Hello all, I'm not a brand new member but I havent posted for ages and then only once or twice. I thought I better rekindle this membership as I have just managed to kill five mint plants. I am told by my MIL that this is an impossibility.....hmm.
I mean, I bought the plants from a locally run garden centre, not a chain. I filled some pots with crock and compost, teased the roots(just like they do on the telly) out a bit plonked them in. I put one or two of those feed things in the compost that look like supositeries & watered them all well. Six weeks later.....all dead. HOw can this be? The only thing I can think of is, I stood the pots on my back garden's non draining soil.....so even though the pots had a bottom and side drainhole, did they drown?

Hi Johnnie, they might have been scoffed. Not necessarily a case of second degree plant-slaughter LOL

    Thanks for the welcome!
I dont think they were scoffed as they went withered and black, not a pretty sight, and as for taking them back.....It'd be a bit hard as they are in the compost bin.......not to worry I'll have another go in the spring. Seriously, the only thing I feel safe doing is making compost!

    Onwards.............
