For slugs of course something's still eating my plants although I've got 6 slug traps (with lids) and there was a big fat slug amongst my winter pansies so I salted him, anyway how often should I change the larger? I'm using asda savers stuff at the moment. I've heard beer is better but I don't think asda do super saver beer..

I wouldn't know about slugs but I like mine fresh and frothy.:thumb:

I would have thought that it's the sweet smell there attracted to so as long as they can smell it they'll go for it.

We change ours once a week whether they have drunk it all or not :hehe:

Actually, in the spring we change it twice a week because the slug pubs are usually full of dead slugs in that time. In the summer we don't bother with them much and in the autumn we change it about once a week.

    Hi Shiney,

Why don't you change them in summer - is it becasue your plants are established and able to hold their own against the slugs/snails??

    Thanks

    Brian

    Hi Brian,

Yes, that is part of it and because we tend to have a lot of dry weather there are that many slugs about. :thumb:
