Insect identification

Just trying to identify this/these insects? I fear they are some type of Weevil.

 

They look like Lily Beetles to me. Kill them !

 

Agreed...get squishing.

 

Definitely Lily Beetle; exterminate!

Got 3 or 4 pairs yesterday.

 

Thank you all. I took no chances and killed them after taking the photo. I will especially check our lillies today.

 

It's been a bad year for them, we've had loads and are desperately removing leaves with all their yucky poo covered youngsters on the underside of them. It's a losing battle and will undoubtedly end up with the plants stripped bare again!

Just notice that we have red beetle on our lily's also - There is no chance that I will be able to bend down and pick the blighters off as I suffer with meniere's disease of both ears and need the aid of a walking stick to keep my balance.
I have sent for a couple of Grazers G4 sprays I'm hoping this might get rid of them, maybe I could try spraying with diluted washing-up liquid- my father (years ago) used it for green fly?

 

I use that for greenfly too ,unfortunately it doesn't have any effect on the Red Lilly Beetle imo.

 

I have the same ones over here.
First i thought "what a nice looking beetle". Then I opened up Google and amnd shortly after returned with a flamethrower.

Mine seem to be pretty docile though. I can simply pick them up by hand. They cling to the leaves instead of dropping. And those poop-covered larvae - I scrape them of with the backside of a knife and put them into a bowl of water. Or you can just get rid of them with some harsh water pressure from the hose.
