Thrips on rose?

Can anyone ID if these are thrips please? Not got wings like white fly, look more like little grasshoppers. I only thought to look as there’s lots of yellow speckling to the upper leaves. These are on roses, in completely separate areas of the garden!

 

Whatever they are, they’ve pupated and flown off, to cause havoc elsewhere no doubt

 

They look a bit thripsy. There is so many things that hide under the leaves, it's hard to keep track
