... but I have only 1 "Thanks" count, and I know I have been less mean that that! so that is presumably something for the forthcoming restore-merge-thingie (not that I'm bothered, except that I think some sort of "post-value" voting system is a good idea). Perhaps I'll have a quick run-around and re-thank people that I have thanked before, or now realise that I should have done :)

I think there meant to be all coming back as with the cash and posts made. We'll just have to wait and see :)

    Hi Kristen,

No offence intended here but maybe a little bit of biting the lower lip - and definitely no finding another forum :) - would be the best way. I think admin would still have liked your feedback, but in private. :thumb: :flag::D

I enjoy the forum and am grateful that it is free - as I am sure everyone is.

I am not very technical but had no problem accessing the forum through my 'Favourites'. I just experimented by clicking on the old (last year's) forum link and it took me to the hostgator site. I just haven't got around to removing the old link :dh:

    " No offence intended"

None taken. I asked for peoples opinions as I'm keen to know how others value the fact that the service is free against other aspects.

    To what end ? :cnfs:

The upgrades are to improve the site in the short medium and long term. Some are at the back end which no-one will ever see and some are at the front end which requires time and money. There are lots of expensive people working without reward (for FREE), and as you say this is a free service.

Apart from being patient and forwarding any specific issues to the attention of the team, perpetual pontification about the last 1% of a fantastic 99% completed site is wasted effort IMHO.:)

Focus on the gardening content and the technology will follow, I promise :gnthb:

I agree with all your points kristen. I get the impression that there is a lot going on in the background - maybe it will all come good in the end. But a few announcements would not go amiss help placate the masses.

We all appreciate the efforts of admin and the mods who work for free, but other sites who earn revenue by advertising are just as nice to work with using firefox and adblock. :gnthb:

I to really think its time we all put our hands together and say many, many thanks to all the backroom boys and gals keeping this site up and running. There is not much we can get free these days and to have it without ads sure is a bonus.
I also must add that in the past I have been a moderator on another site and the majority of my time managing the site was removal of spammers. The amount of spamming here is really very low. Thank you for that.

Having been a Mod on another forum I know how thankless a job it can be at times, so hats off to the the back room boys here.

However, there was no email informing me that the forum was back up and running. I got one saying that it was going down for maintenance, so the system does work.

Also, I can't find anything about post numbers or the thanking bit. Is it somewhere, or am I being dim?

There seems to be a problem with various questions about what's goiing on .... the problem being the questions are asked in all different forums rather than the specific place, ie, going to the Notices green thread above all forums entitled Notices .....

Notices Hello , if anyone has Any questions about the New Features or changes Resulting from our upgrade to the Latest and most secure Vbulletin please click here

So it is sometimes difficult to locate the 'specifics', ie, where have the posts and money gone to?

I cannot speak for the other staff here but I find it very difficult trying to locate everyone's questions and 'marry up' the answers that have already been given.

May I just reiterate what Banana Man said and let's focus on gardening for the time being and the technology will eventually catch up to us .... :dh::lollol::flag::)
