    Hi Kalmia,

Without the acorns or the bark it's not easy to ID from just the leaf. I'd say you can shortlist it to white oak, Lucombe oak or even, slightly possibly, a turkey oak. Any chance of a pic of the acorns/bark at all?

After reading up on the Lucombe oak (Quercus x hispanica ) and looking at a few pictures namely the one below (with a leaf from my picture poorly superimposed onto the far right) they look very similar and it fits well with the other leaves as they all look slightly different and it mentions allot on the kew site that the leaves vary allot:scratch:

I dont think its lucombe oak, according to what I'm reading that is evergreen, or at least wouldn't be changing colour just yet.

If its turkey oak the acorn cases should give it away, it does seem to have the whiskers on the buds that turkey oak has.

Another possible might be pyrenean oak, but my money is on the turkey.

I'll probably find out tomorrow when I go into college:thumb: also it's probably just the colour of the light in my room making the photo's look yellow but they are actually a shiny green:cnfs: (it was a bit on the floor as I didn't want harm the tree)
