    Hi,
I live in Southampton and have been a keen gardner since buying our first house many moons ago. I love to take cuttings from plants and give away my successes. At the moment I am enamoured with Salvias and have several variations of the mostly commonly known Hotlips. They attract the bees and hover flies and I love the scent of the leaves.
My husband and I also have an allotment so as you can gather very busy with the two.

      Welcome to the forum Jane.

That is interesting, I didn't know there are variations with Hot Lips, what differences are they?

      Hi John,
I’m not sure of all the names, one is Amistad which is a large purple flowering one, a pale blue, a pale pink and one called strawberries and cream but my favourite is I think called- amethyst lips. It’s like hot lips but purple not red. When I was looking up the names on images online I found a nursery in Kent that specialises in them. I shall have to visit with a few pennies.

Hi @Jane Jennens and welcome to Gardeners Corner
It's nice to know you enjoy giving plants, I also love taking cuttings and hand them on to passers-by who walk past the bottom of my garden,
I've had many things in return as well ... there's nothing better than sharing plants.

Just a minor thing but, Hot Lips is a form of Salvia microphylla and Amistad is a hybrid of S guaranitica and S gesnerifolia.
