Anybody had any dealings with the "Real seed company"?
    They are based in Newport.
    Seems like a good setup...
Thought I would ask before spending

I've heard of them recently and I was considering using them myself this year as they seem to have some more unusual varieties, so I will watch this post with interest. Always been a T&M kinda girl.

They are based at a farm called Brithdir Mawr farm, Cilgwyn Rd Newport.
They have collected what they think is the best veg in existance for the home gardener. No hybrids or genetically modified seed.
All varieties are open pollinated (non hybrid)
No big glossy catalogue with glossy pictures.
They produce their own to keep the costs down.
Seems like a good set up.
    Theres a web site

I bought seeds from them last year for the first time.
They were very disappointing - perhaps it was me or the bad weather :cnfs:

Tomatoes grew about 4ft high before they had any flowers and very few at that -
therefore not many tomatoes, very disappointing.

Beetroot hardly grew at all and beetroot usually does well in our garden.

Cabbages were beautiful, but the caterpiilars got them so they were no good :(
I still have half the cabbage seeds so will probably try again next year and use netting to
    keep the bloomin' butterflies away.

Seeds arrived today with plenty of guide lines to get the most out of them.
Plus there seems to be a good quantity of seeds.

Hope you get better results than we did Robert!
I think the weather was against us and of course Hubby wasn't well enough
to look after the garden as he usually does.

Fingers crossed for the seeds we have left - we will try again next spring.

"Good to have GC back on line isn't it?"
    Sure is JJ...

I have a dose of mild man flu at the moment so GC is a must. and its amazing how much of war and peace you can read at 4 in the morning while having that second mug of tea to ease a painful throat.
