Can someone please name this Tradescantia for me, I can't remember what it is called. It is badly munched by something and is very pot bound, but I am in the process of repotting it and want to put a label with it.

Hi Michael. I think it is Blushing Bride as the stripes goes horizontally. I have it but have lost most of the colour because it gets too much sun.

I agree with Victoria. It grows outside, in the ground, no protection down here. Severe winters knock it back but it's very root hardy and comes back like a weed

Thank you @Victoria and @flounder I shall put a label with it now.
It is quite hardy here but I have it in a pot so that I can move it by a wall in the winter.

        Hi @Michael Hewett ,

Was just cutting back our Trads, before we trim this one wondered if its of any interest to you if you are into them ?
Possibly also good for cuttings if you have somewhere to root them.

Not sure of its name, but it has a definite Pink hue to the upper side of the leaves.
No idea if its hardy, only been in the house /greenhouse this year.

@ricky101 I have that trad and it is Nanouk and it needs trimming regularly. Not hardy, unlike the common T fluminensis I have outside for years.

I have some Tradescantias @ricky101 and the one in your photo is very similar to one of them but mine is very small, never grows much. I would be interested in trying a few cuttings since mine is too small to take any. Thank you ...

            Hi,

Its in a little 3" pot so probably easier to post the pot with those long shoots cut off, at least you will have something actually growing, though if you prefer just some cutting material no problem. ( this and a couple of other pots of it rooted from a very small mother plant this year)

If you want to PM me your address will pop it in the post beginning of next week.

Thank you! Will have a go. Am excited to see old friends from Goy on here - will be nice to get back in touch, I'm getting a bit old for learning new stuff so I may be in touch again quite soon! I'm not an apprentice gardener by the way - my first photo shows me at less than two years old (in the early 1940's) holding a trowel....

Everyone is called 'Apprentice Gardener' when they join, then later on you're called something else. It's no reflection on your gardening ability. I was called it when I joined but I think I'm called a 'Total Gardener' now :heehee:
You'll get used to the layout of the forum in a while, it took me ages !

Thank you, I've done that now  .

Because i am now old and decrepit and my brain is not working very well an more I am having trouble filling in the form. A URL is normally a webnsite isn't it,but I havent got one more. Sorry I feel a fool but I just can't do this. Will just have to stick with Grows on You which is a lot simpler!
