I tend to put most of it into the compost heap or into the green :)

Compost heap, onto the veg patch, or as the bottom part in new tubs / urns etc.

The potting compost from Tomatoes I put on the veg patch in an area that has just had potatoes (i.e. won't have potatoes for another 4 years)

    Hi Wee Tattie
Congratulations on your first post, every one uses their spent compost either on the compost heap ,or on the flower borders, BUT you must only use disease free compost again, if you have had tomato blight or any other disease you really dont want to be spreading it over all your garden.

Compost heap as most folks have said, it might be tempting to reuse it for growing but the experts always say that used compost can become acidic due to the use of feeds and consequent build up of salts even if the plants had been disease free.

I've usually thrown it on the borders or compost heap, but this year when taking out dahlia tubers, I wore my glasses, and saw quite a few slug eggs, so???? what do I do with that potful???

Dont worry tattie get the slug pellets out that will sort them. Having said that we had such a wet summer this year it was like a full scale war.:D 02
