    Evening bobj. :)

It's a good time of the year for us as things are cooling down and we go into rain season. :thumb:

I must make a correction here .... the Mandevilla is a 'Scarlet Pimpernel' not an 'Alice du Pont' and I don't know why I put that  .... I'll correct the photo name tomorrow.

Sorry Lol I dont mean to be rude, its just that I find your pics a litttle bit out of focus, I see the beautiful colours but I cant see the detail. Is it because we subscribe in different countries. There you go just showing my ignorance. I know nothing about photography. Dont get me wrong I love your pics, I just find I cant see the detail. Believe me it is not a critisism hun. I love your beautiful photos. :flwsml: 02

My eyes must be out of focus cause they look good to me :D

Detail can be lost by way of resolution possibly if they are uploaded to photobucket in a reduced size:)

LoL. your lovely Leonotis reminded me of the cutting you so kindly send me a couple of years ago. It is still strong and healthy, but I remembered that I have never seen it in flower yet. So I had a close look today and it is in bud and about to flower (if the weather will let it). The weather has been so cold that it has been a miserable year for many of my plants. I have quite a few tender plants that haven't bothered to flower this year.

Evening 02, Babe and PeterS and thank you for all your comments. I like this time of year when things perk up after the hot summer. :)

PeterS .... I do hope you see Leo flower after all this time .... not sure if you saw your Salvia which flowered with me (think I started September/October off with it) and still is flowering... ?????

Hi  - I do remember your picture of Salvia "Mystic Spires", if that's the one you are referring to. I would rate that as one of the best, if not the best Salvia. Based on a pretty flower, and a long flowering period. Mine started to flower in July and is still in flower now and looking good, inspite of a -4C frost a week ago that shredded many plants in the garden. Its a hybrid that doesn't produce seed - hence its long flowering period, but its very easy to take cuttings. I have had a virtually 100% success rate.

I feel I must see my/your Leonotis flower, so I am wondering how to get it under cover. It too ignored the -4C. However I have put it in a very large and heavy terracotta pot, that had Bamboo handles, that they have rotted off (the bindings rotted not the bamboo). So the pot is essentially impossible to lift. I don't want to dig it out as I am sure to badly disrupt the root system - this requires some thought .... :cnfs:

Nice photos LOL, I am envious.

Same here in my garden. Everything turned to brown after the hard frost. However the plants I brought inside the conservatory are still doing well. Here are some photos of them. Hope you like them.

They are looking really healthy Chengjing - I find so much of gardening comes down to having the space. Is there such a thing as a perennial (albeit tender) Celosia. I have always admired them.

Thanks PeterS. I know what you mean about space. I always say I need bigger garden in summer and need bigger conseratory in winter. I like Celosia very much, however it is very difficult to grow it in UK because the weather is just not hot enough. I think mine is annual, dont know if there is perennial Celosia tho.

Beautiful pictures chenjing ... your lemon tree is far more advanced than mine. I think I only have three fruits ..... but the lime tree has gone mad. Both are fruiting and flowering now. :thumb:

Here is a much better picture of my Acidantheras than last month ...

    Great pics Lol and Chengjing.
The Callistemon is a new one to me Lol, I'll have to look out for it here, I only have 13 varieties, I'm sure I could find room for one more.:)

    :) Hi strongy ....

Sis bought me this variety two years ago and there is very little information on it. It's called Callistemon 'Flaming Fire' and is one of these 'registered' plants or whatever. It's rather like a Pieris and the leaf tips go pink/red but several times a year. I 'understand' it gets brushes and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Let me know if you find anything as you are more 'in the know' .... if push comes to shove I'll send you some cuttings .....

I wonder if walnut knows about it?

Hi chengjing, your lovely lemons remind me of the time we went to Italy and I was eaten alive with mozzies. there was a lemon tree in the gardens that I used to nick lemon of off every night, which I rubbed on my bites, that worked better than any ointments.02
