My text books were never posh enough for paper - of any kind!

 

Not sure if this is American, but I sure remember this ...

 

We used to buy a block similar to that cut it up and put it between two wafers.

A true story..... An envelope arrived in the post today, marked HMRC Always a nasty moment, even after all these years there's that sinking feeling of 'oh hell, what have I done/not done now'. Following my forlorn and ever-increasingly frustrated attempts to give them some money before April, the nice people in the Pensions dept wrote to tell me that they won't be able to write to me before their self-imposed deadline but that they'll write to me before a shiny, new deadline Bless! No wonder folks are having to apply for their pensions 6 months before they're due!

 

I remember vanilla ice cream in boxes. Sliced up and serve it with tinned peaches Sunday dinner

When my grandfather stayed with us he would send us out for a block of Neopolitan every time the Walls van came around (ping pong ca ping pong) and the whole family, except for him, were fed up with it. That and barley sugar sweets.
And he had Type 1 Diabetes!
