Seems (to me) a lot of blossom for apple. Possibly Malus (Crab Apple) ?

I'm not convinced, but I can't put my finger on why. The flowers and leaves look about right, but I'm not so sure about the bark, and the sheer volume of flowers.

Most apple blossom is tinged with pink. I'd say plum or pear.....

Looks like pear to me but not sure. Later, I shall find time to wander down to my fruit trees to try and compare. I'll check the bark as well.

From memory, which could be wrong, apple blossom smells nicer than pear but that may just be subjective.

I'd go along with them being some kind of ornamental pear.
The bark doesn't look Prunus like to me.

Rethinking, might be a bit early for pear blossom or even apples depending on location.

              Where were pics taken.
Realise you have a micro climate up there but even so it is very early for Malus.
Any clues under the tree...old apples/plums?

Not right for Pyrus...common name pear.
Pear blossom have red stamens...see pics below. inc Pyrus sp, Pyrus chanticleer and Pyrus salicifolia.

              Maybe Plum/damson? PYRUS CALLERYANA CHANTICLEER 14-03-2009 11-50-31.jpg PYRUS SALICIFOLIA PENDULA 06-04-2009 14-21-08.JPG PYRUS XXX 03-05-2020 12-30-14.JPG PYRUS XXX 03-05-2020 12-30-59.JPG PYRUS XXX 03-05-2020 12-34-19.JPG PYRUS XXX 11-04-2014 15-23-56.JPG

I've just wandered down the garden and the only fruit blossom open at the moment is plum.

Just looking around I'm only seeing plum in flower.

I'd go with plum as my apple blossom has only begun to open in the past day or so. Plum is over in my garden and pear is nearly done.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to throw a spanner in the works now, sorry! These trees are in my son's garden in Ohio, America.

He did say they have some, what seems to him, undeveloped berries on them each year, so I'm thinking now possibly crab apple, or plum. I think we can discount pear and I don't think, because of the bark, they are cherries.

What!!! 1st rule..tell us where trees are!
                          Hmm!
                          Completely different case scenario
No idea what is flowering in Ohio at the moment.

In UK it starts with Prunus cerasifera....cherry plum.
                          Then Prunus spinosa... blackthorn.
                          Then pear and plum, cherry.
                          Last is Malus.
