So, there I was walking along a traffic free street in and our beautiful city of York. I spotted three youths coming towards me.
One drinking from a pop can of some sort, as they seem to these days to get the sugar kick.
The moment they passed me I heard the clatter of a tinnie on the road. Turning around there was the can rolling towards me, discarded in the middel of the road in front of dozens of people.
I nearly did something I may well have regreted and so did everyone else in the area..
Would you believe, 30 seconds after the crime was commited a police car cruised by.. to late.
Makes me mad. This may be exceptable in some towns and cities but not in our York. I can only imagine they were visitors.
    Rant over.
    Thanks for listering
    robert

I had a similar experience when a carton landed at my feet. I pointedly picked it up and put it in the nearby bin. I had the satisfaction of seeing them look quite embarrassed.

Make you feel like sticking the thing down their throat (don't complain, I am being remarkably polite, for an Italian).

You can gaurantee that the folk who drop the litter will be the first to moan about the rate of council tax.... a percentadge of it being street cleaning.

I once lost it in a traffic que when a bloke threw a coke bottle out the window of his car and it blew onto my truck... Not the most sensible thing to do but I got out picked it up and hurled it back in to his car along with a few suitable words..... the guy looked petrified lol.

A few years ago I was walking home behind two school girls, as I came level with my hedge one of the girls swiged the last of her can of coke and pushed the can into my hedge. I took the can out and opened my gate, then shouted to them, "excuse me" when they turned round I said handing the coke can out to her,"You've dropped something" red faced she took the can off me and went on their way.:lollol: 02

I was in Barnsley at the weekend pushing my grandsons in their buggy when a child of about 4 dropped the packaging from a toy on the floor. The adult with him simply strode over it! I was fuming, but I merely picked it up and put it in the bin. My daughter asked why I'd picked it up but not said anything. My reply was I had the kids with me and wanted to set an example! I HATE litter.

This is kids is showing defiance, isn't it? They haven't got much to kick against nowadays. Much the same as when they spread across the whole of the pavement so no-one can pass them. You're the adult, they're the child. They'll "bottle" it if you confront them.:)

The thing that bugs me also, apart from the fact of just throwing bottles and cans on the ground, is that nine times out of ten they are not empty.
They have so much money that they can have a couple of swallows and then just lob it.

Makes me mad too. At my brother-in-laws yesterday we saw a coke bottle on their grass, it too had just been chucked over the hedge. My b-i-l said "they never hoi (throw) their wallets over though" :)

    cheers
