Solved What Is It, Please?

Looks like Iochroma australis.

 

I just planted a small rooting this morning ... my third attempt so .

 

I bought one of these last week , I am going to try it in a pot

 

Great plant but not hardy, so will need to be kept frost free over winter.
Used to be called Acnistus australis.

 

I grow it outside and this winter its been cut back but is getting going again now, in normal winters its pretty much untouched.

 

Read somewhere it's changed it's name again!

I still refer to it as iochroma, as I'm too old for all this piddling about with classifications

 

Agree totally ... and at 75 I will always call Geraniums Geraniums ... and Iochromas Iochromas .... and ....

 

Must admit when I first bought seed it was called Acnistus.

 

Have to agree here that this newest one was called Acnistus Australe or something like that!

 

It is hardy in the tropics of Brighton
