        It has been raining since 11 a.m., and it got worse this afternoon. It's still raining, but not as hard as it was. Miserable. I know it's July, but I'm considering lighting the stove in the sitting-room.

        Edit: I find "Metcheck" to be an excellent weather forecaster.

              We finally got rain yesterday after well over two months without any. At least it has been better than last year when there was no significant rain for four months. We're in one of the driest parts of the country according to the the local weather station (independent measurements being taken on one site for over 100 years and listed in the monthly village magazine) but the last person who took over recording it died last year and nobody has continued. It has regularly been less than 24" a year with very few times exceeding 25".

              Yesterday it rained with a vengeance and a lot of roads were flooded but the garden is very happy and I can hear the weeds growing.

              The sun is out now and we have a forecast of 28C for Friday and Saturday.

                          There was 15mm rain yesterday thank goodness. Today is dry and feeling cool at 15c heading to 22. The sun just appeared then disappeared as quickly.
