We have no idea where she is sheltering. She isn't using the box we put out for her. She arrives, gets fed, and then disappears. Yesterday, for the first time, she didn't finish everything we put down to her and she hasn't been back this morning.

Could be a bit like my mate Ginge, he crawls in lots of houses around here, everyone thought they was the only ones houses he was visiting, but after a while we found he's using at least 3 maybe 4 houses apart from his own.
Not found out where his own place is, exactly, but local.

About 30 years ago my partner had an old cat that regularly came in smelling of perfume. She obviously spent a considerable time sitting in someone's lap somewhere.

My dog used to worry me over the summer holidays at our Grandmother's rural cottage. In the mornings she had very little appetite but gained weight. Her morning toilet round took quite long time.

After chatting with neighbours (some distance away) it turned out that they loved the way she cleaned their pot of porridge in the morning. The next neighbour was flattered by the way my dog appreciated their BBQ leftovers and the third was most amused by the enthusiasm my dog showed to their kind offering of cat food and cake.

It turned out that every morning my dog made a regular round trip from door to door, always getting a meal and spending some quality time with the hosts. :)

Thankfully there were only four houses in the area. :heehee:

Well, our cat has been identified and its owner traced. All we need now is for the two of them to turn up at the same time. Bella is fat, not pregnant, and a bit of an adventurer. She lived nearby but moved about a quarter of a mile away a couple of years back. The household has five children (the youngest a babe in arms) and a further two cats, but the catalyst for her moving out was they were dog-sitting for a week. I cannot blame her. I would have moved out too.

That's great news, I bet the family is over the moon to get the Wandering Bella safely back home. Well done for looking after her and making all that effort to find her family! :)

Oh what good news Jocko, great relief all round.
You've done a brilliant job....what a lucky cat to find such a caring person. :cat-kittyandsmiley:
