I got some rescue chickens but the foxes got the beter of me, I won't be making the same mistakes this time.

These are the new girls, only 6 weeks old so not ready for the garden just yet.

Excellent stuff, sweetpea101. What kind of welfare arrangements do you have for them? The wife and I would love to have chickens but we have nowhere to put them just yet. :(

I love chickens! They come in all sizes shapes and colours, some look as exhotic as parrots. I really would loveto have some, for love and for the eggs (I don't think I wd ever have the heart of eating one of my chickens). Best of luck with your chicks! ;)

I would love to have chickens because I love eggs.

Our outdoor living room is built where the chicken place was and wehave a small garden and I can't have them. :(

Looking forward to seeing how your little fellas progress. :)

So cute Sweetpea. Growing up in Ohio,USA on my dads farm we had chickens. I go to the chicken house every morning for fresh eggs. We'd let some chicks hatch every now and then. I also raised some white ducks, about 28 of them. We had a farm dog, a G.Shep. he'd watch after things. Every once in a while you'd find a dead critter who must have wanted a piece of the chickens, O'l Willie, loved his chickens, no one better harm them. They are good memories. Have fun with them.

My grandma used to keep chickens.... in the house!
My dad says he remembers feeding them and getting the eggs from various corners of the kitchen. Guess health and safety would have a few things to say about that now lol.
