I have some wild Turkeys around here in the woods, some days I will here the gobble gobble noise from that. When they come up close in the yard, my cats think they can catch them. They are in stocking mode, so cute.

They look like Welsummers to me, so you should get lovely brown speckled eggs when they start to lay. count their toes, if they have five you could have a rare Dorking breed???

good luck with the fox - I have had many an altercation with him!!!

they're cream crested legbars and lay blue-green eggs, I just can't find their authentic breed name.

sounds a bit like a Leghorn cross barnevelder, can't remember what legbars are, but know a man that probably does if you need to get more info.

How about you old hands put up a thread about how to rescue and care for ex battery hens? I have the size of garden-and kids who would love to help. I have two cats, but I could work around it I think, with a run-and besides, there will be more of us who have the perfect conditions.

That's the breeds. Pekins are small bantams, think pom poms with big feathery feet and Silkies are seriously fluffy, with fluffy top knots and feathery feet. Very cute.
