    Hi everyone
I am looking for some type of shrub easy to grow(hard to kill) that has a mass of flowers in spring /latesummer and fruit attractive to birds in late autumn ???. and it needs to be fairly dense to attract small birds .

any ideas would be welcome :cnfs:

I live on the south coast (POOLE Dorset)
and am trying to develop a easily maintained fairly natural (mainly native plants) garden that is a haven for small birds, bees, butterfly's etc

    Thanks

~My viburnam looks good at the moment, it was a grafted thing which did not do too well so I chucked it in the bottom of the hedge. the suckers made such a great Autumn display that I moved it back into the garden. I just have some shrubs that refuse to be "Degardened".

Sorbus will make a good small tree. Easily pruned to keep at 10ish feet and gives plentiful berries.

Pyracantha, Cotoneaster, Viburnum and Symphoricarpos would be the ones to check out primarily. They come in a range of berry sizes and colours.

I know they grow fairly quick but I am the impatient sort of gardener :-)
