A nasty fence of ivy to clear, roots and all plus a budleia...... Thank goodness for my jakall rail road jack!

The budleiah stump weighed around 50 kilos with 3' long roots!

Wasnt quite anticipating the quantity of waste or id used the pick up and trailer, never mind I improvised to shift it 800 yards to the waste area!!!

    All done in two hours.

The jackall and chain is one of the most versatile lifting tools I have, great for winching windblown trees, pulling out gate posts, stumps or anything else. By working around a stump and pulling on individual roots ive pulled out stumps over 2' wide.

Nice work Paul. I have some of the large leaf Ivy on my fence and it has a mighty trunk ! To be fair its holding the fence up tidy against the wind:D

I used to do the pole and twisted rope trick on fence posts

Nice work Pro!...I used one a few years back when working at the old rail station to lift sunken tracks out of concrete. Certainly worth their weight:thumb:

Hope you didn't drive over that lovely lawn mate:D

2 hours to do all that! It would have taken me two days at least. Never heard of that jack before, very interesting Pro, next time I lift stumps I will look to see if I can hire one.

Wow thats a pretty bad ivy problem :) I've got a neighbour who has ivy growing along most of the 30 meter length of his garden fence. Its a royal pain in the **** trying to stop it growing over, through and under the fence and taking root in my garden. I want to spray it with roundup but I doubt that would make me very popular.

"Ever used a tirfor for the same job? "

Prior to getting the jackall yes, only trouble is getting an anchor point, no probs in woodland but diificult in a small garden even using screw in ground anchors.

The only thing worse than ivy is kifsgate rose!!!!
