A lot of rain and a battering overnight. Trees have been brought down in the area and I lost a large branch from one of the pines in the garden. Not quite so windy today and a mixture of sunshine and cloud. The high wind is forecast to return tomorrow and Wednesday. 5C/41F

 

A windy but mainly dry day, I hope the winds forecast for tomorrow wait until we have flown out of Bournemouth Airport at 9.am!!!!

 

Wind has dropped and rain stopped, but winds predicted to return tomorrow evening, 6 degrees now.

Good morning everyone & welcome to another stormy day! Yes, Jocelyn is arriving - the 2nd named storm this week! So we are in for more heavy rain & high winds!

At the moment it's fairly quiet here but Jocelyn will show up in the strong winds & rain midmorning onwards then the tail end during the evening. This is the 10th named storm since August 2023! So if we get anymore in the next few months they will be setting a new record!

 

The next batch of winds are due to arrive here early evening until then we have rain for most of the day .

Waking up in the night it was like an horror movie; absolutely still; calm & quiet; it felt scary after months of heavy rain and high wind battering the bungalow. The patio is almost dry so I hope we get some heavy rain today. I've just taken the wheelie bin down to the driveway and although it's rather cold it's not perishing but then without wind it's missing the chill factor. It feels strange not having wind and rain; we've still got three big trees standing but two petrol chainsaws with new chains fitted on standby; I'm sure they are an endangered species.

6 degrees with rain forecast, winds up to 50mph due later this evening, calm and dry at the moment.

 

Hi,

Since posting at 7:51 this morning I went into the kitchen and was delighted looking out of the window to see it raining AGAIN; the patio is soaking wet and it's now the usual wet black hole so I can relax; everything's normal.
