I can vouch for this having been to Shineyland and was made to feel very welcome. We met some other members and had a lovely time. So Shiney knows I am real I think!
I would not mind having to carry round an identity card.

 

Steady on, has anyone told you how big it will be yet.

 

Haha Pete, I carry so many cards around with me at the moment! They are mostly medical cards and alerts but as OH always says if you are not doing anything you should not be doing then you have no need to worry!

 

Yes I sorry just my silly sense of humour, I just visualised a comedy sketch were we are all give these 8ft x 4ft ID cards that must be carried at all times.

 

I love it Pete, I have a wicked sense of humour too- can you imagine everyone banging into each other and you would never get on a bus

 

Sounds like royalty.

 

During the war they had identity cards. I've got my grandmother's. It's like a folded card about an inch long I think. Her name and address are on it.

 

I hope you never look in my purse Shiney! It is packed with appointment cards, medical cards, shops cards and very little money. You could have a man bag of course!

 

I didn't realise they had them during the Crimean war.

Those paper ID papers have certainly lasted a lot better than my paper driving license which ended up as separate sheets and looked nibbled, despite being carefully kept in a plastic wallet. The Belgians thought it was hilarious every time I produced it.

The new credit card style driving license - complete with photo now and all sorts of personal info - is a lot easier and more practical to carry in my purse which I need wherever I go in a car.. My ID card lives in the same slot.

If I'm just walking the dogs locally I don't take a purse or ID.

 

You don't have inflation over there? We have to carry pots of money just to purchase basic groceries! and that's my moan...

@Jazmine what year were you at Shineyland? I loved my visit in 2018 and would love to be able to do it again, but it is a long way to paddle the old canoe..
