Ok heres my opinion on the whole matter.

Ed had no choice but to run for leader of the Labour party. After all he knew David was going to run and if he won and became the leader of the opposition, and then either failed to win a general election or in fact did win a general election but then went on to make a poor PM neither the labour party or the public would turn to another miliband in the wake Davids failings.

Ed obviously had high hopes for his own future and has shown he had a good following and the potential to lead the party so it really was now or never.

David has found him self in an awful position where if he stays he will always be judged on his reactions to Ed decisions to the point where Ed will be worrying whether David will approve of his actions.

AS for fell sorry for him? Yea a little but I won't shed a tear for a man who gets the opportunity to retire in his early 40's with a good family and lovely home.

I would like to comment on the comments made by people that all politicians are to blame for the state of our country.

If people really think politicians are to blame for the poor education system when the reason most students are not learning what teachers would like to teach them is because most parents have next to no control of them in there own homes and when ever a teacher attempts to enforce any discipline they are reprimanded for doing so. The rowdy pupils bring down as many as they can and go on to be the can wielding louts we find on our streets. There parents have no idea where they are from one day to another and allow this to go on. If a politician were to introduce a bill that inderviduals in the school were to be permanently excluded from any form of education for continually interrupting the education of others there would be riots in the streets and the kids causing the trouble would be in our shopping centers day in day out form a younger and younger age.

Only yesterday I heard an interview with the uncle of Raoul Moat saying some one should be brought to justice over the death of Raoul and the equipment the police used (Vazer gun) had not been approved by the home office. When the man had murdered in cold blood a young man and attempted to kill two others. How is this a politician fault? When they try to enforce stricter punishments they get 100,000 people lobbying the houses of parliament in protest against breach human rights.

I won't comment on the armed forces for personal reasons but I will say do you remember the images of revelation in Iraq when Saddam was toppled? Granted there were no weapons of mass destruction but there was a threat and still is. MOD stands for Ministry of Defence and in maters of national security attack is always the best form of defence. The cuts the PM is looking for is not at grass roots on in the field like the media would like us to believe but at the top where excessive spending is rife and top military officials are treat themselves as managing directors of multi billion pound business's.

I do agree the nations debt is a joke but are all politician to blame or is it some times the people of Britian?

Getting back to the subject, no I don't feel sorry for him. He's a politician, he needs to get used to rejection! Although I do think the election of the Union Man will do Labour harm. The British people seem to have an built in dislike of unions...perhaps because we have experienced the damage they do and the trouble they cause.

Personally I'm getting a bit bored of hearing about the election of the Leader of the Opposition. I wonder if it had been the Tories in that position would there be quite so much news coverage?

The news coverage was because there were two brothers fighting for the leadership of the Labour Party. The Labour Party lost.
