Yes, I've been going through all the online seed catalogues :(

How do you know what you're getting for your money? Some sell by number of seeds, some by row length, some by weight etc.,

Then none have all the varieties you are looking for, some even have different names for the same variety!

I would prefer to get most of my seed from one supplier but which one?

Who said gardening was easy! :D

I found that it was hard to get all I wanted from one supplier too. If u go to more than one u have double the postage

I used to go through all the seed catalogues and pay all the P+P then I realised that if you get to a really good garden centre that stocks all the main suppliers you can pick and choose what you want and they're the same price as in the catalogues.

Unless, like me you get a catalogue from Thompson and Morgan......then you ignore the 1st one and they send you another with 2 free packs of seed......then ignore this and they send you yet another one with a £5 off voucher.

Then you send off for the 2 free packs of seed from the 2nd last catalogue and then buy some more from the last catalogue the sent and get a fiver off.

Manage to get about £15 worth of seed every for just 2 lots of P+P.

    I do it every year.

Personally I use DOBBIES and THOMPSON & MORGAN for my veg seeds and have no problems with delivery or the seeds themselves. Their on-line service is good and secure and you can use the vouchers.
What one firm doesn't have the other generally does.

Had a talk from a professional gardener at our gardening club. he said " go for the cheapest seeds you can find from any supplier" If they are a named variety, they will all be the same regardless of the price and supplier. Apparently almost all the seeds on sale come from just three main suppliers in Europe.

PS. We get most of our veg seeds from the end of year sale at a local garden centre. If the packets are clean, dry and in date, we buy them and get them for 50p a packet.

I got a load from an instore earlier this month-all for 20p or 30p. They are all in date, just not ,much choice on varieties. But if you happen to be passing one then it`s worth a gander
