You've got me thinking. Of course everyone believes in something whether it is God, celebrity, football, money or themselves. After all I bet you all know some-one who thinks they are God:) :)

well said Celia ,so very true. People are entitled to believe in what ever does it for them as long as whatever they believe in doesn't infringe on others liberties, don't forget everyone is right looking at things from their perspective.

the last book of the bible(revelation) has much to say about false religion,

and the God of the bible is disgusted with false religion.

that is why in revelation 18;4 Gods people are told to GET OUT OF HER

the last book of the bible is very symbolic, and false religion is spoken of as a harlot.

And her name is BABYLON THE GREAT.
And Babylon the great is the ......WORLDWIDE EMPIRE OF FALSE RELIGION

And she is going to go down in a big way , and it is Gods purpose for that to happen .

The one main thing I object to is having people come knocking at my door univited and then try to get me to join them.I always take the WatchTower that they offer and usually have a quick read before putting it in my composting bucket ready for the allotment so it doesn't go to waste:)

I actually had them knock on my door last week and the gentleman was telling me that Mary had changed religion:scratch: and even said he could arrange for more visits to which I declined, pointing out that I already had my own religious beliefs and wasn't yet ready to change to his,and we left it at that:)

PS,I could have sworn earlier that when I looked at this thread it had been locked but is now open again:scratch::cnfs: the Good Lord sure does move in mysterious ways:)

Remember, every religious text in existence was written by humans, not by whichever deity you happen to believe in. Therefore they will always be flawed and biased.

Same here Shiney, i refuse to discuss it with anyone but my family.:thumb::thumb:

I can remmeber once at a Baby shower, 2 members of the expectant mommies family, got into a fist fight because her family thought the baby should be "this" when it was born, and his family thought it should be "that" religion......and these were 2 uncles :flag:

I am happy to discuss my beliefs-none of them very religious l must admit, l don't feel particularly strongly one way or another. l have no need to quote the bible, the koran, the torah, the teachings of Buddha or any other so called word of God book. l only have my own experiences in life, my own perceptions.

When l have needed a God l got nothing, nada-not one bit of assistance and help from my own man of cloth.

I am from an Irish Catholic background, and just want to say, one of my favourite people on here is of an Irish Protestant background. lf we two can get along very well without the intervention of the bible-rather our love of gardening has brought us together, then for me, that speaks volumes.

Religion-ALL religion is a crock. lt's voodoo mumbo jumbo, and BM-you forgot the golden rule-never let them in-even via t'internet.

If there is a god-which l personally do believe in, l think he can take a bit of stick.

I can't see the point of talking to or arguing the toss with someone who has been brainwashed by religion, they always think they are right and are usually very narrow minded so I don't discuss it either.:)

Thats why i avoid talking about it too :gnthb:, and i've seen too many people be upset by other people's views, so its a topic i avoid, especially at social functions :thumb:
