    Hi @pete

Just replaced our old Motorola phone for a new Samsung, a similar but later model to yours and finding its way better.

One feature thought worth a mention that we find very handy but which you may not have come across ( so many options you can use !) and thats the Easy Mode which basically magnifies the whole screen image in a useful way, saves having to get the reading glasses out !

Quick video below of how to activate or deactivate it.

I dont get that option @ricky101 but i do have something called magnifier.
Personally I'd settle for a finger print scanner that actually works, I spend most of my time putting my pin no. in because it keeps telling me to cover all the button.

      Basically, its bloody useless.

Scanner on our Samsungs seem to be pretty good to be fair - even manage to get my fingerprint with dirty/dusty hands. What phone have you got @pete?

        A40s? I don't think there is an 04s...

If it is the A40, they are generally bombproof - that is the phone my daughter has and she uses it, a LOT. Have you tried resetting the stored fingerprint?

Oh, so it is newer than my daughter's one by the look of it - half decent spec too. I still say try resetting the stored fingerprint and store more than one if it allows (I have a few fingers stored)

My old one had a scanner on the back and it was half decent, this one seems to have combined it with the side button which only works when I access my insurance company.

I've added a new finger print, but its the same one I added when I first set it up, but it seems happy that its new one, I'll see how it goes.

Our old phones a few years ago were a bit temperamental that way - very sensitive to fingers being clean, dry and not having any wee marks to the skin such as thorn tears or paper cuts. These newer ones seem a bit less fussy

                Hi Pete,

Well from what we read, the side button finerprint scanner is the least reliable method of locking the phone. Using a Pin/Password is best.
Later models do read the fingerprint on the actual screen so may be a bit better, but still not as good as a Pin etc.

If the larger screen display is of use to you, it should work on your A04 according the the ytubes we have seen.
However suspect its because you have not Updated your phones Software, it needs to be Android 13 with Samsungs One UI 5.0.
To check what version your are on, Goto Settings, About, Software and it will show what versions you are on.

Even if you do not want to use Easy Mode, suspect you may have missed the updates and the important Security Updates, if so, then go into the About menu again and there is a "Software Update" which should show if any are available, you normally have to update via a wifi connection.
There is also a box you can check to tell it to update automatically,

Good that you are all up to date :dbgrtmb:

Not sure why you cannot find that Easy Mode option, not the end of the world though .... ? :)
