    Read but not tried
Slugs and snails detest copper etc , do you have any coins the old pennies and half pennies?

Arrange these around your pot plants by pushing around sides least in the compost as possible . Slugs etc will not venture over the coins..

This one I use all the time and it does work...... I use clear yogurt pots for cuttings as you can see the roots straight away without removing the plant to check if roots are forming.

If the tip about coins work I should think also placing them on compost around potted plant will work also..... that is until a child for example comes along and is overjoyed to find hidden treasure...?.

Youl know the culprit as his pockets will be weighed down specially with the old £ shillings and pence coinage :hapydancsmil:

I use copper rings around my beans, yes it works, but only to cut down the numbers. I suspect some must ignore and inconvenience/pain and others are either inside the ring or dig under them.
