Should i be watering olive trees right now ?

    Generally i intended to leave well alone but i did wonder given the current summer spell whether i should give them a few litres each of saved rain water .. any thoughts ?
    They are mature trees in large pots

    If they're in pots absolutely you should, rain will really not penetrate them if their really large.

      Mine is about 25yrs old also in a big pot.
      I water it most days when it's really hot and give it a seaweed drench about once a month.
      If it's cool, then I water weekly.

      Those we see in hot Mediterranean places have roots that go very deep to search out water.
      Not something that a potted olive can do.
