    We have access to these pears but looking on line find that they are only ripe when they turn yellow. As they don't want to and still very green we need to decide what to do with them. Any ideas from you all?

    They won't be ready to pick until October, and then may take some weeks to ripen. Press the neck near the stem - if it 'gives' a little, the stored fruit is ripe. :smile:

      @BobTG thank you but they have been given to us already from the tree and can we still keep them until October?

      Ah, I see.:smile: You could try waiting to see if they ripen, or perhaps use them in cooking?
      There are quite a few unripe pear recipes, if you google. :smile:

      I think they will shrivel if you try keeping them, they are no where near ready to come off the tree in mid July.
