    Hello, all,

I'm Richard and I'm just hopeless when It comes to anything to do with plants.. So I'm going to be needing a bit of help.

I've just bought a house in Spain and with It there's a pretty impressive garden but some of the trees and plants are In a pretty poor state, so hoping that together we can revive them!

Nice to be here, and hoping to learn a lot, and even though I'm not green fingered, I do take It badly when plants are neglected.

      Hello ... and welcome. :)

Sounds like an interesting new project you have there. Presumably drought will be one of your main issues. It could be some of the plants in situ have suffered in the periods of extreme heat over the last few summers.

Will you be living there full time? I only ask as that will make a big difference to what you can grow. Some plants will fend for themselves in absences, others won't.

In which region have you bought? Are you living there or have you bought a holiday home?

A picture would be useful. There are a few members here on GC who can advise you.

      Thanks for the welcome..

I'm on the Costa Blanca about 30 miles inland, so yes, heat Is an issue, I took this pic a few days ago of a forest fire that broke out nearby.

I'll be here for about half of every month, and I'm wondering If I should make one post with pics of all the trees and plants that need reviving or several dealing with each plant separately. The poblem Is I don't know their names and I know I'm not supposed to dump pictures here. I'm guessing It's mostly a question of watering, so I'd really appreciate info on how much and how often I'd need to do that, and hopefully make my garden happy again, which btw Is actually really nice If a little worse for wear, so I can post a few pictures of It If that's something members might find interesting.

We have been lucky (so Far) with no major fires.

It is difficult if you are only there 50% of the time. Yes, put pictures up so we know what types of shrubs/plants/trees you are dealing with.

That does look quite a parched landscape.

I agree 50% attention may limit what you can do, unless you can employ someone to cover watering in absences.
