    Hi all.

New here, and completely clueless. I'm trying to find a proper, non-leaking attachment for my Mum's hose. At the moment, a scrawny and short length of hose is forced onto the outside tap, and then into the hose "wheel" contraption. It works, but occasionally falls off at the tap (and leaks all the time).

The thing is, the tap isn't a "screw" type. It's an old-fashioned one (photos below). She uses a lot of Hozelock stuff, so can anyone suggest the proper attachment and hose?

    Thanks all!

    Will

    Hi Will,

Your two photo's answer the question. It is the screw type, the lower picture shows the spigot (where the hose goes onto), push the hose on after you have put a "Jubilee" clip on the hose, then clamp the hose on with the Jubilee clip. Alternatively the hose can be fastened on with galvanised wire of around 1.5mm thickness, wind it twice round the hose on the spigot and twist the two ends of the wire together with a pair of pliers.

The correct Hoselock fitting to screw on is one which has a snap fitting one end and a female screw fitting of about 24mm internal diameter on the other. It screws on where the large ring is just above the spigot, the outside diameter of the thread is 26mm.

:thumb: Hi Will, can you unscrew the brass spigot off the tap. You usually can. You would probably need a wrench or an adjustable ? If you can, go to B&Q & get the Hoze-Lock system.. So easy to use..:thumb:

Thanks to both. I got a hozelock thing which squeezes itself onto the spigot (no chance of it being removed) and there's a metal loop around it which is tightened by a key. Works like a charm. Also bought the Ultra 9 spray gun which, on first use, is absolutely great.

    Cheers again

    Will
