Love asparagus, al dente .... I don't eat much meat but love chicken with asparagus .... have a wonderful recipe from my (yes MY cookbook) of a Mexican dish although it was originally done with okra (lady's fingers) and I changed it to asparagus and also a celery and sesame version.

WHat a mess, where I come from (north italy) Broccoli is the large green thing that you seem to call Calabrese. But it is not the last word because in Rome broccoli is yet an other veg. Anyway, my recipe refers to the green stuff above. It is definitely a strong flavour, not for the faint tongued, but hey, I love it. ;)

Broccoli is actually a whole range of vegs. Bit like saying greens! Purple sprouting is one variety. Calabrase is another.

PSB is what I was growing in my veg patch until the caterpillars thought they liked it more then me.:(:( and attacked it and stripped it when I was not looking.

Next year they will not get a look in. I will set up night patrols if I have to.

It is a very tasty veg and so far I have only managed to have some from the market and none that I have grown or tried to grow at home.
