Seen a few of these trees in the local park, just can't quite work out what they are.
I was thinking a weird variety of chestnut but maybe totally wrong.
    Any thoughts. 20240803_101521.jpg 20240803_101512.jpg

I think you will find it is a cut leaf Beech.
    Fagus sylvatica heterophylla or similar.

Have a close look at the long pointed new buds..already there they will stay dormant until next spring.
Maybe it has beech masts on it or on the ground.

The lack of any fruits of any kind was why I was undecided but thanks, I think you have nailed it it does look like the online pictures.

Probably why I was getting no where going down the chestnut route.

      Thanks again @Silver surfer

There are several trees with cut leaves..I love the cut leaf Oak..Quercus robur filicifolia.

In our old garden in Wales we had a very slow dwarf one called Fagus sylvatica Mercedes.
        Leaves very thin.
The buds are so easy to id...just like all beech trees.
        I loved it.
        Super autumn colour.
Bought from Bluebell Nursery as a baby shrub.
