Any help would be appreciated! I went to cut down the acanthus today (least thats what I think it is!) and there are pods with a seed in them. Should I be collecting these? Or doing anything special with plants/seeds?

    Thanks very much! Sam

I save the stalks in a large paper envelope or bag to allow them to dry/air to circulate.
Then, seeds fall or can be shaken off. Caution: the seeds do not store well, tend to decay
quickly. I just set them in location where I want new plants, lightly cover w/ soil /tamp down/water and hope for the best. Everything I read says that from seed, most never grow.
But others seem to be battling with existing plants spreading/becoming invasive. I've not had that issue. Good luck to you and pat yourself on the back for saving the seed!
