Its been awhile since I have posted a Grand day out.
    Today is the day.
The morning dawned bright and clear, so a picnic was put together and off we headed to the Fewston / Swinsty reserviors with miles of walks prepared and maintained by Yorkshire water (Bless em)
On our return I plan to pop into Darly mill to see how the restoration of the large water wheel that used to power the mill is progressing.
Please injoy my 18 pictures of our grand day out.
    robert
On arrival we see the res level running slightly low but nothing to worry about this time of year.

Commenced our stroll along a nicely maintened path with cool air fresh air and dappled sunlight
    [IMG]

Not a lot of flowers around for this busy bee to work on
    [IMG]

Plenty of seats to rest those bones on
    [IMG]

    A view across the reservior
    [IMG]

    And again
    [IMG]

Beech trees are enjoying the weather
    [IMG]

Back to the car park ( Note for the photographers) This picture is 2 stops underexposed to bring out the sky detail and enhance the tree shadows
    [IMG]

On arrival at the mill we see the progress on restoration of the water wheel (note to H&S: worker up ladder using mobile)

Not far from completion. maybe on our next visit we shall see it working
    [IMG]

The mill itself is one of those places where you can by all the stuff you never knew you needed! Some of the old mill machinery is placed in the displays and presents quite a pleasing atmosphere.

Cap, H&S? I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt but he could be holding on to the ladderwith his right hand therefore having three points of contact, but it doesn't look secured at the bottom!:skp:

    Re note to H&S:
Also check for trip hazards, suspect trestle work and dangerous tools. Absense of first aid kit and safety man also noted.
