:thumb:I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who helped me with advice about my potatoes this year. I have just dug them up after the leaves died off, and they are fantastic. Even though they were planted a little late, some of the tubers are huge and they taste terrific! As a beginner with veg, I'm so pleased, I shall probably plant 2ce as many next year. Not bad for just throwing some old potatoes in the ground. Lindy.

I was very pleased with my attempt at growing potatoes for the first time this year!!

Just nipping out to the garden to get what I need is so much easier - not to mention cheaper - than having to go to the shops or opening your cupboard to find your potatoes have arms and legs and are coming out to get you!! (one of my ferrets in particular is fascinated by potatoes with arms and legs - I found a good few dried up in her huge long plastic tube under the kitchen table - needless to say I think they'd been there a while as they didn't really resemble potatoes!!)

My purple carrots where pretty impressive too especially the ones grown in coke bottles in pots (for the extra height needed)

My first serious attempt at potatoes too, and very successful and productive. Towards the end of the season I caught a bit of what I suspect was blight, and some eelworm damage in others. I'm guessing that it is OK to eat the potatoes with eelworm holes (only a few holes) if I cut out the borehole but that they would be bad for storing. Can an experienced potato grower confirm?

Prastio, Eelworms are microscopic, your damage was probably caused by Wireworms.:thumb:

Sorry! You are,as ever, totally correct! My typing finger appears to have been affected by this red stuff I am drinking.
