    Hi
I just dug over my veg patch and planted my onion sets in a plot in corner of garden , I am worried now that my hens will dig them up/eat them , should I be worried ?

Yes, might not eat them but could scrabble them up.

Hens will scratch away in any bed they can get into. We put up a barrier whenever we plant new stuff - first to keep off the hens and also, depending on crop, to keep out the butterflies, cabbage root flies and pigeons.

We always leave a space bare for them to scrabble in and dust bathe.

Rather feel they will find fresh green emerging shoots attractive, even if they do not enjoy with sage...
