Hi, thought i would ask this separately to the gallery thread.

Over the weekend I had T'other Half dig up Hera in the ground and plant Petit Sunrise in its place which had a great solid rootball. The latter went well but the former came up bare rppted in two pieces. so I carefully planted each in a separate pot. However, they look good on the base but droopy over on top. What should I do, leave alone or chop the top droopy bit off?

    Thank you in advance.

If it was totally bare root I'd cut it back and put it in the shade to recover, maybe spray with water a couple of times a day if its really warm.
Keep it just moist at the roots.

Maybe prune top growth a bit, so the amount of leaf matches the reduced amount of root?

Reduce the foliage by half, keep watered, put in a sheltered corner to recover.

          Thank you @pete @CarolineL @Goldenlily26

The root (x2 stems) was quite thick and totally dry so I trimmed straggly bits and of course planted them in fresh compost and watered. They all permanently live in relative shade with only a couple of hours full sun. I will reduce some of the leaves by small cutback and monitor. We are due some rain this coming week, but they have to cope with it as we can't move 15 pots to somewhere dry.
