I'm sorry about Granddog @Penny_Forthem, sad loss for your family.

Well done to the slimmers. I couldn't do the 5/2 diet. The only diet that worked for me was cutting out carbs and eating smaller helpings. I'd eat a piece of fruit if hungry. Need to do it again.

I slept quite well, didn't take Night Nurse. Feeling OK now, just tired, bit of a cough.

Did the weekly shop yesterday and a load of ironing while I watched Bake Off.

We are going to a coffee morning with a Christmas Fair. Village Fireworks tonight. The village hall and its field is between 2 villages in the countryside so I hope it doesn't dusturb too many animals. The bonfire this year is massive.

 

My heart goes out to you and Granddog's family. I have felt so close to losing Rob recently with his health problems. It is devastating.
I had a conversation with a lovely lady who stopped to speak to Rob on our way out of the Vets on Thursday. She admitted she cried more over losing her last dog than she did losing family members. I was the same with my last dog Meg. It was 22 years before I could face replacing her with Rob.
I know a lot of people ridicule our grieving but the bond between animals and their owners is very different to the relationship between humans.

 

Morning everyone, late start for us. After most of day in the garden, we were out at a concert with the Academy of St Martin in the fields. Cheap tickets so we could put up with a restricted view and hard church pew seats. Stravinsky and Hyden plus some we didn't know. We figure we live with London prices, so we may as well make use of it. Fewer fireworks last night thank goodness, all in the distance but with my bat like hearing, I'm always aware of them.

Not dog people here but I understand how attached you can become, such a shame. @Penny_Forthem

Occasional drizzle so far today, but still very light winds and mild for the time of year.

Yes, we planned to do more in the garden, but we are getting that very fine drizzle too, I think the Scots call it smurr ( not sure of the spelling). They have some very descriptive words for " the weather "

Done food shopping (and some for Dad - he has a delivery but I like to buy him extra bits like deli counter items), done a few jobs, had a little nap, and now just planning what to have to eat to time with Strictly.

The English language is strange. Catnap, kidnap (different idea!), and what other kind of nap can people come up with?
