Can anyone tell me why my hydrangeas did not flower for the first time this year and the ones across the road did. They have exactly the same conditions and treatment.

    Here's hoping!

RYdall, if they are across the road they don't, DON'T, have the same conditions, they have opposite exposure. South north, east west, whatever. It was a bitchy spring, late frosts etc. The blooming buds may have been frozen to death. On the other side of the street they may have been better off, wind/sun wise.

And I disagree Hydrangeas do not like sun (full sun) except perhaps in very cool and moist situations. They are woodland plants, never forget that.

Hiya, Might you have pruned the flowering buds off?

Your quite right-- I was basing that erroneous statement on having moved mine into the sun and it did much better.
