    Good morning everyone!!

Sunny weekend! My foot! We are in for rain later so I am off once more - I'd better get a move on as I'm still in my jammies.

I wish you all a pleasant weekend!!

Morning @Ante1 and @Tui34. Enjoy your trip to the cottage @Ante1. I can just imagine Max's joy when he can have a nice, long walk with you - investigating all the new smells. Cricket is out at the moment enjoying a bit of 'play' time before he comes in and sleeps for the day.
I particularly love today's picture @Tui34. That little Santa gnome is very cute.

@Ladybird4 I hate to say this but, though the days lengthen by a few seconds overall, sunrise, continues to be a little later for a while. I've read explanations, but I still find it confusing. As the weather is often so dull anyway I hardly notice the change till about mid January.
Just our luck the radiator in the main spare bedroom is stone cold, the thermostatic valve has decided to pack up. I've tried various suggestions from the plumber but it's going to need to be replaced.

Oh goodness @Allotment Boy, that is the last thing you need to have happen at this time of year. I suppose the radiator being in a spare room can be coped with until you can have a repair done.

              Morning all.

We are going to lunch with son, and family, 5 children. They've decided to go to a family restaurant as they've been so busy with work and Christmas.

I have an appt after that at the Orange phone shop. My Samsung mobile has some problems, it's 4yrs old. Keyboard isn't working properly. Orange have sent me a new mobile for only 5€. I looked it up, it's worth around 750€, so long as I renew my contract for another 2 years. I need help to set it up.

What a nuisance on the first day of winter @Allotment Boy. Are you expecting guests?

Hello all, a cold showery day and the birds are going mad for food. We seem to have an abundance of blue and great tits and sparrows, there also seems to be more black redstarts staying with us this year.
Our Christmas tree lights decided to pack up yesterday, not sure if it's coincidental with neighbour's cat coming in and lying under the tree. They were quite a cheap set and none repairable as a lot of these lights are these days, so luckily I have a spare set.
                  Catch you all later.

Oh yes it's definitely the valve, no air in the system, when you take the cap off a thermostat valve there is a pin, sometimes it's just stuck especially if it's in a room you don't use much so have the setting down low.
As reccomended by our plumber, I've taken the valve cap off and pushed the pin up and down (it springs back) to no avail. There's a trickle of warmth getting though but nowhere near enough.
It's only in case the GCs decide to stay over. They may not as they are getting to an age where they prefer their own rooms at home, which isn't far, but it means someone has to drive. If all else fails we have a fan heater, it's not the end of the world, just a nuisance.

Sounds like our spare room @Allotment Boy . Used for grandchild when sleeping over, otherwise it gets used as a study. We only have a chair bed in there now.( quite a small room). The radiator is turned down to only 1 but something does happen at the end where you bleed it, now and again, which our plumber sorts out for us, when necessary. Not a huge deal.Hope you get yours sorted soon.

I'm going to deliver the doggy pawtrait this afternoon. They haven't seen it yet, as I want to surprise them. Fingers crossed they do like it.
I have 'lost' a bag of outside lights. They wouldn't have gone in the loft as hub doesn't feel safe accessing it since his op. So, if anyone finds it, give us a shout, please!
Mind you, next door has plenty of lights, plus 2 giant inflatable penguins, so we're a little oasis of darkness!!

How could they NOT love your doggy pawtrait @Penny_Forthem - its gorgeous! My Bestie has got a human sized snowman in her conservatory. It has its own automatic pump to inflate it.Just as well because I don't think anyone would have enough breath to blow it up. I do have to say it brings a smile to my face.

Ta da....lights found! Carefully laid out on the double spare bed and covered with a throw to keep the dust off, as you do!
                            Also the Christmas tablecloth.
                            Result!
