Not at all. :) I think it is more the self-congratulatory tone the BBC adopts over certain progs (Strictly being another eg), rather than the content, that irks people.

I only watched two programmes over the whole Xmas period - Carols from King’s and Matilda The Musical (which I thought was excellent), but I expect my viewing preferences are minority ones.

    Welcome, BTW. :spinning:

If you enjoyed it, you enjoyed it, and there's nothing wrong with that, we're all different and have different likes and abilities etc.
However I don't know why some programs, like this one and come dancing and that jungle program etc are reported on in the National news. They're just tv programs that some people find entertaining ... they are not really important.

Welcome to GC anyway , I usually stick to plant related threads myself, it's unusual to find me commenting on things like this, but I think I was bored last night

Should’ve turned the TV on, @Michael Hewett, and, on finding being irritated was worse than being bored, you could have turned it off again, thus restoring contentment with your lot.

How can people afford to go on strike that long. I was on strike for 1 day and lost some of my lump sum and a bit off my pension.

The only thing I watched on Christmas Day was the new Wallace and Grommit film, Vengeance Most Fowl". I enjoyed that, but I think "Curse of the Were Rabbit" was better.

Did anyone see that silly interview on the BBC early show.
They were at a hospital and for some strange reason decided to interview someone, and waffle on, outside a pair of automatic doors.

Consequence was the doors were either totally open all the time or closing and shutting.
Surely they didn't have to stand in that doorway and waste all that heat.

@JennyJB I agree with you about "Curse of the Were Rabbit". I enjoyed 'Vengeance Most Fowl" but I didn't think it was nearly as good as 'Curse'.

@Jiffy Can't do that - what would our MP's do without their 2nd home allowances, cheap food/booze, travel expenses, guaranteed pensions and all the rest of it

I see a poll tax moment coming on in the near future if this bunch dont hit those they said they would, Banks would be a start, but lets start with pensioners, and then small businesses, and may be they are working their way up.
But possibly just working their way down.

That's a very good argument to throw back at them when they talk about people on benefits.:dbgrtmb:

They really aren't very bright with a lot of stuff - and to be fair, it is across all channels too... it gets right up my nose when they stick reporters outside somewhere, often in the middle of the night and/or chucking rain, purely on a tenuous link to the story... such as having them outside Buckingham Palace when there is nobody there and they are all at Sandringham, or outside a court because someone was there during the day, ten hours before or something daft like that.
