I've been waiting for the patch of Helebores in my garden to come into bloom and wondering why they haven't. A senior moment no doubt! Having had a re-think they aren't Helebores but what I believe to be Arum. Would some kind soul here confirm that with an image of the leaves please? @shiney I believe you have a good crop in your garden?

Thank you Silver surfer. Sorry, I can't add pics of the leaves as they're under snow at the moment. They look like Arum Italicum and I'll confirm that when I can.

          Thanks @Silver surfer :blue thumb:

We have lots of Arum italicum with some clumps having about a 5ft radius. We think the leaves always look very nice but some people don't like them at all. Mrs Shiney uses them a lot in flower arranging.

The birds are very good at distributing the seeds which are like large red berries.

They are most attractive but can become too big for their boots when happy. Yes - the Arum italicum spread fairly quickly when happy. Quite a few here and I do like the bright orange berries.
My Hellebores are budding well - if the weather gives us a break, I'll expect to see them opening out in a few weeks ( fingers crossed ).

Thanks Shiney. I thought I'd spotted them in your photographic tours of your garden.

Thanks again Silver surfer. I'll keep an eye on them and see how they develop.

Reminds me of cuckoo pint which I spent all summer digging up when we moved into our present house.

I've gone back to my original post because 'stupid me' has lost the plot and become even more stupid!

Sorry everyone but the Helebores that I thought were Arum are in fact...wait for it...Helebores! :doh:With the snow gone I took pictures yesterday and this is what I have...

How I could mistake them for Arum I don't know, and having walked the rest of the garden I can't see Arum anywhere.
