Sunny with gusty winds from the west south west temp 7c feels like 3c

 

We have sunshine and 10c. Washing is out drying in the garden.

Very wild here, 75 mph winds that could get stronger, bins flying about and seemingly trees falling in the area. We seem to be ok, can't see any damage, the west seems to be getting the brunt of it.

 

Quietened down considerably in the last hour and grey but not raining .

Surprised at how little rain we’ve had. The winds are strong but not dramatic. Due to calm down in the next couple of hours.

 

Very blustery overnight, and heavy rain in early hours. It was bright and breezy all morning but the clouds are gathering again. Still dry at the moment but forecast to change.

 

Still standing…just. Very very high winds. Lots of branches down in the garden but nothing major and it is meant to calm down shortly. 99mph winds recorded on The Queensferry crossing which links where I am in Fife with Edinburgh and further south. Have trees down all over the road to the nearest village and my refuse bins have disappeared down the road and scattered rubbish all over the place( idiot me should have put them somewhere out of the wind). A job tomorrow to litter pick. I have not been out to see if the greenhouse is ok but looking from the upstairs windows I think it is still standing. Glad I bought a really strong one!
Hope everybody else in the red zone are ok, it is still very windy here but hoping we have seen the worst the gale has to offer.

 

Maybe not the right place to post but it is weather related. A 400 year old Sycamore said to have links to Mary Queen of Scots has fallen foul of the gales today. Very sad but at least it was caused by natural causes not like the sycamore at Hadrian’s Wall just chainsawed down on a whim from what I can gather.

 

We had our rain overnight so today it was full sun. Rather nice.

But it was so windy. Our bin men are on strike so the wheelies are still outside and they have a habit of walking down the road, that's if the lids aren't open or have fallen over and paper flying around everywhere.

Tomorrow is full sun again. But for Sunday another weather warning for rain.

 

Aberdaron apparently recorded 93mph gusts earlier today. Brother-in-law has a caravan further down the Gwynedd coast. Hope it's still there!

 

The rain cleared by 10am and it was fairly cloudy all morning, it tried to brighten up but never really became sunny before it turned thick cloud again by dark.
10c, warmest for weeks.

 

That Sycamore at Hadrian's Wall is growing back, but it won't be the same.

 

Still wild up here, but we are luckier than those over on the west side, trees down and fences too, but we have hedges and they are still there at the moment. Winds still over 60 mph and it's raining but the barometer is slowly climbing up again.
