Morning - sagging though the mattress is, it was nice to sleep in our own bed and sleep, I did!
I have started research on a new one. Things have moved on since we bought ours and now there's a mind boggling choice. We will need copious personal research of lying on them, so as to get the right firmness! Oooh, err, missus... [IMG]
We feel like we celebrated V Day yesterday, as the pub was decorated with hearts etc. It was packed. My beef rendang was yummy.
          I like your wife's 'revenge' @Fourmerkland!
I am waiting for a bit of sun to warm the greenhouse, so I can get in there, sort the propagators, check the power and tidy up. It's still depressingly grey.
We did see sun yesterday. This was the view from our window. A few brave climbers parked in the carpark!

              Hello everyone!

I wonder if they lifted the crown of that monkey puzzle tree to frame the view, @Penny_Forthem ... Lovely.

We have a bit of sun here too, and it's now 7 degrees.. It's very welcome, after days of grey and cold. Might even get into the garden this afternoon...

Grey again with rain just stopping and then we should stay dry but grey and cold.

Weekly shop this morning and OH moaned that it was another wet shopping Friday so I suggested he give up golf and we go back to a Thursday shop. He said no more.

Next job is taking Cosmos for his annual echocardiogram. An hour of purring and fur shedding all over me while she checks each chamber.

                Serves you right @Fourmerkland !

Glad your calf muscle is OK @Ladybird4.

No V day here but I'm going to try a carb free chocolate cherry cake anyway. Possum thinks she doesn't like cherries! But she's desperate for some chocolate after a long week at work and college so worth trying.

Stay warm and cosy everyone and wrap up if you do have to go out. Lots of lurgies out there.

not doing anything for V-Day here. off to my therapy soon for my wrist. organizing packing for trip on Tuesday. chilly day. I started keeping a list of things I need to do or buy. LOL. maybe that will help with those after thoughts of "yes I wanted to do that but forgot". LOL. Later.

Drab and drizzly here, no gardening, and we’ve had a very lazy and unproductive morning. Shouldn’t read the online papers, each day something more bizarre and outrageous to make me depressed. Sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
No Valentines Day celebrations here, but I shall try and make dinner a bit special. I shall open a bottle of pink bubbly stuff, OH not an alcohol fan, so it’s all for me!
Lovely dishcloths, @Fourmerkland, it’s the thought that counts! You will think of her every time you do the drying up. Kindly, I hope!
I must remember the advice for sore muscles, @AuntyRach, seems to have helped @Ladybird4.
What a glorious view, @Penny_Forthem. We are on our second Ikea mattress. Worth a look if you have a store within reach, they do a range of types and qualities, and the prices are reasonable. Easy for us, as we have an IKEA 20 minutes away, so were able to go and see them ‘in the flesh’.

We have IKEA mattresses too @Ergates and @Penny_Forthem and like them firm with a thin, separate top layer that can be easily turned and washed. We are just over an hour away from the shop in Nantes so had the latest one delivered.

Home from the vet where Cosmos behaved perfectly. He always does. Not much change in his thickened ventricle walls problem but a new teeny leak back from a ventricle to an atrium which needs to be watched but an annual echo will do. 121€ and worth it to be reassured. he's had a good feed now after lots of energetic purring and cuddles during the process.

It is finally brightening up and there's even a bit of blue but it will be gone soon as more rain sweeps in for the weekend. Got some sinus busting meds this morning so will give them a go now I'm not driving anywhere else.

Hope you got some gardening done @Liriodendron. I might just sort my seeds out this weekend.

The deed is done - an extra firm Hypnos with a 60 day sleep guarantee, so we can change it if we don't like it. New bedding purchased, too, so an expensive day in the Forthem household!
It's being delivered on Wednesday, so better make sure there are no dust bunnies lurking under the bed!
No IKEA within reasonable easy travel distance - the joys of being in North Wales!
Our old girl had her Librela jab yesterday and she's pretending to be a puppy today.

Afternoon all, it's even more bitterly cold today than it has been. I had to do our usual walk and didn't enjoy it at all, slightly better though on the return journey with the easterly wind behind me. Kept telling myself (with gritted teeth) that the exercise was good for me!
Back home after a restorative Danish and coffee, I caught up with several small niggly households jobs, some paint retouching on pillar corners, washed the curtains and even hung them out to dry in the wind, bought down a plastic box full of plastic bags - why? Straight into the recycling bin then and bleached some small brushes in the bathroom.

Been reading and watching ETTC - funnily enough on Anglesey today.
Love that photo from your hotel bedroom @Penny_Forthem.
Do hope the cows haven't obliterated all your perennials.
Ouch, @Ladybird4, that sounds very painful.
Apparently, I can arrange for my meds to be delivered and picked up from our surgery so will see how that pans out. It's just about near enough to walk if I want to and there is a bus service as well.
                          Have a good weekend all.

I finally got out into the garden this morning. No sun but it was a brighter, dry day. Made a start on marking out my new vegetable/fruit beds which will replace a small gravelled seating area and herb garden. Have started to move some of the gravel into old large tubs. It’s not an easy job as it’s quite weedy. The old very cheap membrane underneath is rottingaway so my plan to pull it up and hopefully be able to pool the gravel into a big pile failed at the first gentle tug :noidea:

Feels so good to have had some time outside :)

                              Evening folks. You’ve been chatty.

Having Saturday night style dinner (Chinese medley) as I didn’t have lunch today so fancied something tasty with double carbs!

                              Have a relaxing evening everyone.

Good evening all. I just came from my neighbor. We had a nice chat and some coffee, it's Friday after all. Forecast was correct and winter is back. My walk with Max was a bit shorter because blizzard caught us in the middle of the forest. I'm finished with my dinner, and now sofa and tv.
