The local Sparrowhawk visited yesterday afternoon and unfortunately took one of the Siskins.
Gruesome photos but I suppose it is easy prey.

Stunning bird. I expect it happened so quickly that the siskin didn't even know what hit it.

There was a bird of prey lingering around here this morning, nothing on the bird feeders just gulls chasing it off, which is what drew my attention to it, it looked fairly big.

The birds are so busy in the garden at the moment, the feeder constantly has a variety of them feeding.
I saw two Robins having a real fight whilst a 3rd one sat and watched to see who the victor would be!
I also saw a male and female blackbird have a real tussle in the air using their feet. One had been drinking from the pond and didn't seem to like the other one joining her!
Here's Mr and Mrs Bullfinch and a Great Spotted Woodpecker.

The Goldcrest has been every day for over two weeks and I finally got shots of it on the fat balls.

Mr Pheasant always ignores me when he is on his way to get some of the seed that the birds drop from their feeder. His six wives usually come along first and he comes when they have had enough.

He's not the least bit bothered by me whereas the girls are more nervous.
