Went to a lovely party last night here in New Bern, NC. the house is massive, big center family room, kitchen, walk out to screened porch and then huge outside kitchen with several grill areas, and outside sink etc. Big fire pit going on the side, I would guess at least 35 people. Lots of yummy food. Later played Music Bingo. House positioned well on an end so to have lots of car parking. Built with entertainment totally in mind. So anyway, no sign of driving back to our north house yet, have to stay another week. Just stuff to do here. Later.

Sounds great @redstar, enjoy your stay.

Nothing much done today, wet and windy outside so gardening postponed. Didn't sleep well so just had a snooze after sorting some stuff - why have I got a plastic container full of plastic bags, old jiffy bags and old tissue paper??? It's all gotta go.

Looking forward to meeting my friend and taking her out to lunch for her birthday treat tomorrow at a GC. Need to get some 2nd early potatoes and rose fertilizer as well.

Last episode of Miss Austen tonight, I'm finding it rather confusing trying to sort out all the characters. The flashbacks are a tad irritating and the mix between fiction and fact is also blurred but I do like the costumes and scenery!

      Hope it's not Maisie @Penny_Forthem.

After careful scrutiny today, we think it's Anu, @lizzie27. Been on iron rations today (might have eaten the same doodah as Bryn). Disgusting animals - still love 'em though.

Well you know I love a Diddly-Dee! Bulbs etc worth a go - I love a Glady! Lovely bit of height and colour in Summer. There was talk of Hollyhocks in the chat this week - they are great too. I bought two lovely plants one year thinking they would flower as looked quite robust, but no. They looked pathetic the next Spring and were a bit munched, but they came up! I think there’s at least one self-seeded one that will be due this year.

Good evening everyone. Well after the joy of yesterday it was back to huffing and chuffing at the persistent rain. Tea/coffee morning went well despite the fact we had fewer people call in. As its the end of half term this weekend people may have been making the most of it before the small people head back to their education. I know that in Wales half term is just beginning. I do like school holidays as the traffic volume drops. Its such a shame that some childen have lost the ability to walk to school!

Will you have to wait a while before you get someone to give you a quote for your door @Butterfly6? I was aware that listed buildings had to have all sorts of regulations applied to preserve their wonderful history but I must be honest I do not know too much about it.
@Tui34, I think you should just persist with your fairisle. I always think they look really nice. I am knitting a baby blanket and a mohair jumper for myself (at my rate it will probably be ready for next C*******s!) Baby blanket is needed for next month. Pleased you got to the bottom of your heated tray conundrum @Penny_Forthem. Also pleased to read that it is not Maisie who has the tummy upset.

All this talk of knitting! I have two items which could be described as oversized sleeveless cardigans, but without buttons. Both bought years ago, and probably irreplaceable as they are evidently out of fashion now. I must make a concerted effort to find a knitting pattern for something similar, they are so useful to pop on over a jumper and trousers, and hide my J Lo style rear end. If I start soon, it might be ready in time for next winter!
Really windy here today, and very wet. A lazy day at home, did some on line shopping, and painted my toe nails ( mainly just to prove I still could!) Will we get the forecast good weather tomorrow? Sleep well, everyone.

I am signing out for this evening and thinking positive thoughts about tomorrow and the funeral I am going to. I hope everyone has restful nights and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. Good night all.

It's been windy here all day, but went to church, cooked dinner (Mrs F unwell), cleared, went for a walk, then relaxed.
Tomorrow the garden waste bin is emptied, so I can begin the process of creating more.

I hope the funeral leaves you with positive thoughts, @Ladybird4

Good morning all. Rain and thick sea fog. I heard on the radio that it's the last Monday in February. So one more month is almost behind us. Will finish my tea and start a day. See you all later.

Thank you for your kind words @Fourmerkland. My friend is picking me up so we will just go and show our support for her husband. I am also hoping that I will hear from a boiler engineer some time today. I've messaged him to say I will be out at certain times. Tonight I am quizzing.
