Good evening all. It was another beautiful day. I just came from my front garden. There was one wall craving for coat of paint. It's finished now. I carried away a bit yesterday, but next week might rain, and one huge job is done. I have a small machinery, but shaking and bumping for few hours was bit too much. Now is time for dinner.

We are home and it feels cold!
I had booked the local for a meal tonight, but not feeling up to it, so have cancelled. I do have some meatballs (local butcher's ones) so will cook those and have them with Famiglia Rana pasta.
Very unlike me to turn down a meal out!
I will have to divide my time tomorrow between trying to finish painting the downstairs loo and gardening. I know which I prefer!
Some of my seeds are up, but not as many as expected. A few Tigrella, no other varieties. No chillies. Basils doing well.
BTW, I just love @Ante1's new avatar

          Hello all.

I hope you are having a Happy Birthday @Liriodendron .

We are home now in Dordogne, fires lit, unpacked luggage, bird feeders filled. Got back at 3 pm which is 2 pm in the UK. The drive went smoothly.

Now I'm sitting on the sofa, having just looked at the post and my new photo album.

The album has turned out rather well, despite the impossible website. Photos of Christmas and grandchildren 2023, then spring unfolding in my 2 gardens, our trip to the Lake District, seeing friends and families, garden visits and Stately homes in Norfolk, boat trips on the Broads, days at the seaside and our cruise on the Danube. We certainly made up for all the lost time of COVID and waiting for OH's hip replacement.

@lizzie27 I hope that your lunch was as nice as the one I had today. It was a bit of a memory trip for me as we went to a restaurant that my family used to go to for Sunday lunches many years ago. Good news about your central heating @Obelix-Vendée - I am still waiting for my boiler man!

@Penny_Forthem, I do hope you feel warmed through now. Yes I love @Ante1's avatar too. I am a massive Peanuts fan - have been for years. It must be nice seeing your finished album after all the difficulties you had in curating it @Busy-Lizzie.

We're home too after a quick overnight trip to Bournemouth to dog sit. Enjoyed our short walk along the beach front and lunch with DIL. We all decided to have the Full Monty Breakfast bap, which was yummy, although it might have been a mistake on my part before a long, tedious journey home. I blame OH really for throwing the car around a tight corner at a steep angle and then ten minutes later, having to make an emergency stop at a Zebra crossing when the young lady changed her mind about which direction she was heading for. My stomach's still lurching so dinner's postponed.

Still, OH's forgiven as he agreed to stop at the big Tesco's to pick up 2 bags of Westland PF compost on special offer.

Glad you got to your French home safely @Busy-Lizzie and that you are pleased with your new photo album.

Thanks very much everyone for birthday greetings, and for that smiling teddy bear, @Ante1 !

We had a lovely lunch in Killaloe, a pretty little town made famous by Anthony Trollope, who wrote some of his "Palliser" novels there. I started to do some more gardening in the afternoon, but was soon interrupted by rain, so knitting & reading took over. A nice peaceful day.

Glad you're safely installed in your French house, @Busy-Lizzie , and that the album turned out so well. You might have inspired me to do something with our box of loose photos... it's about time!

Glad you had an enjoyable birthday, @Liriodendron. Is that Killaloe where Paddy McGinty’s goat lived?
Glad @lizzie27 and @Busy-Lizzie are safely home.

Good morning all. I'm fed, Cricket's fed and so far all is right in our world. Haven't sussed out the weather yet as it is still a bit dark but it could be a day for spending some time in the garden. Got some cakes to bake for tomorrow's tea/coffee morning. Rugby later. I hope your work day runs smoothly @AuntyRach and that @Ante1 is not too stiff after his marathon 'dig'. Wishing everyone a pleasant Saturday.

Good morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow. I'm completely recovered from digging @Ladybird4, but painting is killing me. Where is @Songbird when you need her. Here is same as yesterday, sunny and warm. I'll go to the garden and finish what is started yesterday. Have a nice day all of you.

Good morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow. Sun is shining here and I have a whole day off to play outside. Going to collect 10 bags of manure in a bit, only £1 each ready bagged up from a local small stables all well rotted . A few nettles in there but worth every penny.

We’ve got our appointment to get a quote for the new back door this morning but after that I will be straight into the garden. Assuming I don’t get side tracked by other jobs, I’m planning to crack on with the new veggie/fruit patch. OH says I should call it my potager but it’s one of those words that never feels right when I say it and I’m not sure my little patch will quite fit the image. I do like to name the different areas in the garden but the names usually pop into my head or emerge naturally so we will have to wait and see :what:

Weather is glorious again this morning and due to be good all weekend yippee!

Sounds like an excellent bargain @Debs64

Hope everyone enjoys the weather, muck spreading, being home and relaxing and that work goes quickly and smoothly for @AuntyRach

Good morning all. Dull here but dry at present; I'll be off in a couple of hours to a choir rehearsal in Limerick. Strange time to arrange an extra practice (for a concert in 2 weeks, so there's a bit of a panic!) but I guess most people can manage 11.30 to 1.30... my tummy will be rumbling by the end though.

That sounds a great price for well-rotted manure, @Debs64 ! Happy playing!

                                Enjoy your baking, @Ladybird4 !

You're right about Paddy McGinty's goat, @Ergates . The great Val Doonican...
