Wow.What a great thread.Tried my hand at sloe gin these past two years but after a glut of blackberries for the third year running have tried blackberry gin, brandy gin but what came out tops was blackberry vodka......a drink to die for,so delicious you are not aware just how much you are pouring into your glass.Highly recommended:wink:

    Hello.Here is the recipe:
    1lb.washed blackberries.
    3-4 oz.castoer sugar.
    1 litre of vodka.
Large plastic cotainer with a sealable top.I use the plastic containers that you sometimes get from village pubs that let you take home pints of their real ale. They are shaped like the old stone jars with a handle.Holds about 1 1/2 litre as you will need some space on top.

Put the blackberries and sugar in the container and top-up with vodka.
    Easy as pie.
Store in a cool dark place and shake every other day for a week then once a week for two months.

    PS
Forgot to say that the same recipe can be applied using brandy or gin.
